I've been gathering some information on using video and found resources that I hope will help make this an easier task to embark on.

We all need a little nudge or a big kick in the pants sometimes. Are you starting a new business? Do you want to grow your business? Adding video to your marketing efforts can be quite effective in gathering leads, generating traffic and building a reputation. I’ve been gathering some information on using video and found resources that I hope will help make this an easier task to embark on.

Video is quickly becoming one of the key differentiators. Being an early adopter of video could put you out in front of the pack of people doing what you do. What makes video really critical to growing your business is that it builds trust, authority, relationships and familiarity. People feel they know you or your product and service. It feels safe.

175 million U.S. Internet users watched online video content in October, 2010 for an average of 15.1 hours per viewer according to comScore’s October 2010 press release. Big deal, you might say. But it is. This means that 84.1 percent of the U.S. Internet audience viewed online video. Let’s also consider that more and more people are carrying smart phones which allow them to watch video on the go!

Don’t you want to be playing in this cool emerging market? What are you waiting for? Just consider it word of mouth referrals.

All you need is:

a webcam, video camera, or screen recording software

a cool story

a presence on the internet and hopefully with some social media tools in your box

OK, maybe you need a bit more than this, but really, it isn’t that hard. Here are some types of videos you could produce (and it doesn’t have to be all about you!)

Interview someone interesting or someone with a good story

User/customer testimonials

How To or instructional content

Sure, these are the basics to get you started. You could really get creative, there are very few limitations!

Here are some posts to help you get started! Just try it! Today! Deliver and see what happens!
