Can Color Advance Your Career?

Experimenting with colors can be so much fun. Even the smallest accessory in your color can make your outfit POP! Referred to as the universal language, color is an important part of non-verbal communication.

In “The Language of Color” the author states how color is to sight as sound is to hearing; both are vibrational movements for the universe. Even when we think we are not being influenced by color, we are. Our health, attitude as well as the impression we make are believed to be heavily influenced by color.

Hmm… so, does this mean color can help accelerate our careers? Can it help the entrepreneur win new clients?

Well let us consider the SICA method (Self Image Color Analysis). The SICA includes 14 intuitive based questions. For instance:

Question#1: “If I were a color what color would I be?”

Red – You are ambitious. Ready to take on the world. Fear takes a back seat.

Green – You want to help others. You have a knack for goodwill. Also tap into your inner Albert Einstein – - the scientist in you.

Yellow – You are the life of the party. Your people skills make you a great communicator.

Purple – Intuition is your guide. Not to mention the implied regality each time you step out in this fab color.

Black – You get the job done! Your discipline keeps you in line and on point with your tasks.

Question#2: What color looks good with the color you chose in question 1? (This color indicates what you can do to lift your spirits.)

Red – Try exercising more. Implement an office workout plan. Setting and achieving your goals count. Here is an idea. The next time you are at your desk, make it a goal to do at least 30-seated lifts.

Green – Try helping others. During your lunch break or after work volunteer your time. For instance, if you cook, volunteer at a soup kitchen. Do you love fashion? Check out Dress for Success.

Yellow – Socializing with others would be great. Go out to lunch with your co-workers. Allow them to get to know you.

Purple –

Trust your intuition. You are known for being sensitive. Show more of your sensitive side by listening more to others. Take it even further by implementing a toy drive for the holidays.

Black – Exercise your knack for self-discipline by implementing a project at work. Start by identifying a need that has to be filled. Then create a project to fulfill the need. With the holidays on the way, why not start with a toy or coat drive?

Remember, the above are your inspirational colors. Perform the tasks associated with that color and improve your mood. Also, try wearing them the next time you want to put your best foot forward.
