The problem with Facebook was that they decided to
give themselves a perpetual right to reproduce anything their users put
in their Facebook account. They decided to give themselves a right
which is not normally granted by the mere act of publishing on a web
site. That they need to have the license to republish the works of current members is probably legitimate because copyright law is a bitch. But to get a perpetual right, that’s just abusive.

Facebook is a brand killer for any job seeker if not used properly. We are hearing stories everyday about job applicants not getting a position they were qualified for because of the information that the employer found on their Facebook. Even worse, a lot of employees are being fired for inappropriate use of Facebook during work.

By creating a web presence that shows you in the best light possible, you can suppress any negative content out there about you and control how you are perceived online.

This is really a great resource! Too many job seekers don't realize the importance of maintaining a spiffy web presence – personal though it should be. I have had job seekers mentioning to me that contents of their facebook profiles were brought up during interviews!
