Its one thing to ask for what sites you are on….its another to ask for the personal info that all websites and critics say you should keep private for your identity protection. Bozeman, Montana is wrong in asking for login and password info. someone with the wrong intentions can easily steal someones identity if they have this info.

It’s absolutely important to watch your online brand. You take care of how you present yourself at work, at parties, and even at home, and the web, though it gives an appearance of anonymity, is really no different.

That said, Bozeman’s requirement breaks the Terms of Service of many social media sites. For instance, Facebook’s TOS, term 4.6 states, “You will not share your password, let anyone else access your account, or do anything else that might jeopardize the security of your account.”

According to a video at newsy.com, Facebook actually probably got in touch with the city. Imagine the day that Facebook tells the government they’re out of line. =D
