As mentioned, this really can bring about common ground between you and the interviewer and can sometimes lead to you getting the job. I included that I am passionate about karaoke, because I love to sing and have been a member of multiple music groups and choirs in addition to competing in karaoke competitions, but I knew karaoke was something more people could relate to and would make me stand out in a fun, positive and professional manner.
