These are really great tips! Another thing to capitalize on is the trending topic. This shows that you are in the current events loop; you have an opinion, and you're more likely to appeal to more tweeters.

I would highly recommend using Twitter in the job search. It is one of the best ways to find the jobs that aren't posted online and viewable by the public. We have a lot of success stories about job applicants finding jobs through Twitter that they had no idea existed.

Sites like Monster, Careerbuilder and Indeed are simply just boards where they make money if you get the job. It's a great business model for the masses but it doesn't always benefit you to be apart of it.

When using Twitter, follow a lot of people in our industry/expertise and start to interact with them, that's the key aspect.

I haven't used Twitter to search for a job. I wonder if people would start sending spam job notices, like the one's I get from posting my resume on Monster about 8 years ago. I took my resume down after about a year, but I still get those spam “we have a job for you!” emails. It is very frustrating.

@alexander Twitter job search can be an effective tool. Even better, it allows you to subscribe to certain keywords or job postings.

@twitterjobfinder: Thanks for the compliment. I like your idea. What web apps are you specifically thinking of. Job search management apps, job boards, etc? If you have seen any web apps I would be happy to research them.
